I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting this, but I can't seem to find another place. I'm having some problems with Megaupload. I think that it's either a problem with the server or a problem with my computer but I'm not too sure. When I try to download the file in Mozilla, it says "C:\Users\common\AppData\Local\Temp\uoCai1Xy.mkv.pa rt could not be saved, because the source file could not be read. Try again later, or contact the server administrator." after I click on the Download button. When I tried it in Internet Explorer, after I clicked the Save button to save the file to my computer, the download box disappears and nothing happens. This problem has been persisting for 1 week and I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. Thank you very much.

What file are you trying to download?

Any file from Megaupload. I also tried other megaupload links from other websites. An example of one link which did not work for me would be this: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KWXYJQUJ. However, I think it would work for you. It might be a problem with the megaupload server for my city or something, I'm not so sure.

Yeah, it does work for me. You can try clearing your internet cache in your browser and clear your cookies for megaupload, as well. Delete any file you managed to download that gave you the error message (you may have to search your computer or look in your temp internet files to do this). Then try again. Sometimes if your download is interrupted midway through, it'll get stuck in your cache, causing every other attempt to fail, as well. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what to do, so I hope that this will work for you.

Have you tried using a download manager like flashget?

Hmm, I had not thought of that. I use IDM in combination with a premium account, so my downloads are all able to be resumed. However, I guess the strange thing would be that all megaupload downloads fail? If that is what is happening (not just one certain file), then I would also suggest installing a good registry cleaner application and making sure that everything is in order on that front. Also, from reading elsewhere, some spyware can do wonky things to downloads, so you can also try scanning for spyware, too.

Thanks for the advice! Clearing the temporary cache and everything really did it. And the problem was like every download from Megaupload couldn't work. But thanks anyway. Flashget might be a useful program, I'll be checking it out. And thanks for the advice about scanning for spyware and stuff.

So that worked for you, then? Sometimes it's a good idea to dump your cache just to keep things running smoothly :)
