Having finally caught back up with this anime, I have to say that I love it more with every passing episode. It's just cute and sweet with moments of funny tossed in, and while the overall story is compelling (if not a bit angsty) the anime does a damn good job of not taking itself too seriously and somehow manages to come through without resorting to the rather juvenile humor and cheap laughs that some do. You're not going to get the gratuitous panty shot for no good reason; you don't get the overly exaggerated boobs or any of that. No, the humor that is incorporated is much more subtle than all that, and watching Randel struggle with his past while trying to help create a positive future ... well, I love it!

It is one of those animes that really isn't getting the hype that a Death Note does, and it isn't as "flashy" as something like D. Gray-man. It doesn't have the bishies of YamaNade or KokuMono ... what it does have is solid story, compelling characters, and, dare I say it? Huge ... personality, all wrapped up in the neat package of a towering giant who longs for a peaceful life and a world that doesn't have to suffer ...

I just finished watching the final episode for the third time, and I have to say that I'm very impressed with this series. It really didn't disappoint me at all, and the ending was good without closing up 'everything'.

How cute was the scene between Orland and Alice when he's telling her that she can rely on him??? The big guy was blushing and just cuter than cute ... I just adore him; I really do!

I thought, however, the most interesting thing was after the ED and credits; the splash screen of Alice and the words on said screen ... Dare we hope for more? I sincerely hope so ... A smart, heartwarming and compelling anime, indeed. I'm really sad to see this one come to an end.

I was a bit disappointed by the lack of romance X_X
The manga has so much more!

Sadly the anime stopped when the storyline in the manga got interesting.

I don't see any glimpse to hope for a sequel, too bad T___T this series was finally something which actually had a decent storyline, not that flashy and flamboyant as other series.

This was an anime... that I had trouble starting, since it didn't appear appealing at first glance... Thank goodnees I had the foresight not to judge simply based on this initial impression & actually gave it a real try... Now my only complaint is that it ended... & just when things seemed to be picking up pace... not that it ended badly just that I want more. This series really needs more coverage... I mean, despite the lack of hype, bishies & the likes... it keeps you gripped with an actual plot... but it seems I'm preaching to the choir. I just hope the manga counterpart is being scanlated since we don't know when, if ever, there will be a sequel... I still think there may be, I mean Gunslinger Girl just got it's sequel ... what 4 years later, right?
