The most amazing manga I've ever read:
Oh god it was so sad. So enthralling, amazing, heart-wrenching, tear-jerking beautiful manga I have ever read. The Demon Ororon is a manga that you are forbidden to miss out on. Mizuki Hakase has created her masterpiece. Don't trust anime news network on the ratings because this one is excellent. Engross yourself in this romantic tragedy. It is worth your while. The sheer drama is so exhilerating that you will lose yourself in it's pages. Never heard of Ororon? Shame on you. Out of pity I shall provide you with the synopsis:
When Chiaki meets a wounded young man on the street and offers to take him in, she has no idea that she's just invited the King of Hell to move in with her. Out of gratitude for helping him, Ororon offers to grant Chiaki one wish. Chiaki, who lives a very lonely life, asks Ororon to stay with her forever. Remarking that "forever" is not the same for each of them, Ororon agrees, and the two of them quickly become attached to each other. Unfortunately, Chiaki soon realizes that falling in love with a demon has consequences.

This is the edition that I have. All four of the awesome volumes packed together into one giant hardcover novel. I recommend this over reading them seperately because once you start this you won't want to stop. Delight in reading this. You can tell where Mizuki got her plot for Kuruizaki no hana. The stories are very similar. But don't get me wrong, both are series that you should read. So, conclusively, don't deprive yourself of this melancholic tragedy. :)

Ooh!! I love The Demon Ororon!! I bought all four volumes separately since I started the series when it was first released in the U.S. like 2003 or 2004. I totally agree that this series is one you have to read all the way through in one sitting cuz it's SO hard to put down. :D

I tried looking XD. Gawd i tried. if you find any by some miracle, notify me immediatly XD. this is all the information that I can gather:

Wings is a monthly manga magazine in Japan (its really thick actually) that has featured Demon Flowers (Kuruizaki no Hana), Baku, The Demon Ororon, and Empire of Midnight by Hakase Mizuki. Many other titles have run in Wings as well. The Demon Ororon premiered in Wings in 1998 and ran until January 2001 (19 installments). Starting in April of 2001, Empire of Midnight began its run. You can visit the Wings website, but it is entirely in Japanese.

Using the kanji text can help when searching for anything related to Empire of Midnight.
悪魔のオロロン - Akuma no Ororon (The Demon Ororon)
真夜中の帝国 - Mayonaka of Teikoku (Empire of Midnight)
水月博士 - Mizuki Hakase

Empire of Midnight - Serialization in Wings

04-2001 - on p. 79 for 39 pages
09-2001 - on p. 209 for 30 pages
10-2001 - on p. 127 for 12 pages
12-2001 - on p. 11 for 34 pages
01-2002 - on p. 205 for 40 pages
03-2002 - on p. 435 for 21 pages

I found this information at http://www.aiwil.com/~ttl/contents.html

It looks like Empire of Midnight only ran for 6 installments. I read somewhere that the story was dropped from Wings, why, I couldn't say. I don't even know if thats the truth. But I have a feeling the story wasn't finished, or it seems they would have published it into a graphic novel form. As far as I know, no graphic novel for of Empire of Midnight exists. From the 6 installments, that would create a 176 page graphic novel, and where many run 200 pages plus, maybe the publisher felt it wasn't enough to publish? Just a thought... Seems the only way to see Empire of Midnight is to get the appropriate back issues of Wings, but good luck, I have yet to find a way to get a hold of any. LOL I can't read any of this but # 3 says it's so teaser scans of The Empire of Midnight. Just make sure to scroll down it's after a few scans of The Demon Ororon. It's looks pretty much like teaser scans for Hakase Mizuki's works. If you were interested to at least look at them here is the link.

13 teasing scans (http://ororon.egloos.com/3895158)

It's not all that much that I came across yet those of you who have read The Demon Ororon would be able to tell if it wasn't The Empire of Midnight. That was about all I could find. Looks like I will have to buy The Demon Ororon to check it out yet I am troubled since no one can seem to find any scans for the next part. Since no one can seem to find any scans or old 2006 Wings so The Empire of Midnight can be scanned is kinda a downer. Plus knowing that it's also not completed and no one seems to know if it will be completed or on hold indefinately...

yea, i can tell which ones are the empire of midnight, ororon and baku. you really should check this one out. it is a bummer that the sequal is virtually nonexistant, but the original is still something that is a must read. :D
