I just finished reading all the manga to date, and I have to say that I think this is my absolute favorite manga (hard pressed to say, being the InuYasha devotee that I am, buuuuuuuuuuuut) ...

This manga is just ... wow ... For anyone who loves offbeat comedy (Sunako-chan rocks, plain and simple), there is so much more to this story than first meets the eye. I laughed out loud sooooo many times, and there were a few sniffles, too ...

The Kyouhei arc when his past is really delved into and you see how badly it hurt him to have been cast out by his mother because she couldn't take the attention he inadvertently drew was just sad

It's an interesting take on "beautiful people" and the prejudices that they have to deal with, too. Unique problems, to be sure, and yes, they are quite overblown here, but the point is clear: it can be difficult even for those who are considered "beautiful".

So grab this manga and read it today!!!!!

Okay, having just read the last chapter and 1/2 that was released, I have to say ... awwwwwwwwwww!!!! The whole Ranmaru - Yuki thing was just sad, IMO ... I guess I just don't like seeing 'my boys' at odds with one another, so it made me really happy when the two made up :)

Anyway, I'm so looking forward to reading more of this manga! Can't wait till the next release!!

So chapter 58 was just ... cute. Though his moments are few and far between, Kyouhei really can be an absolute doll ...

I adored the part when he took the hit to protect Sunako-chan ... Maybe he's starting to realize that he cares about her ... a LOT ...? heh heh heh!

I like this manga two. For me it's the first manga I've ever read. I've never thought I'd like reading mangas but I've the anime and I really enjoyed it .
I like all of the characters , kyohei and sunako at the top ofcourse.
I like the way avoid admitting their attraction to each other.
It's really funny and I'm waiting for the next volumes.

I watched some animes on tv bur I really wasn`t interested to read the mangas of them or mangas of other storys ..untill one day i was bored and decided to search for some online reading ...there was a website where you can read and download mangas so I decided to look for something to read there ... I chose Perfect Girl Evolution because I liked the name and I kinda had this feeling that this manga was not some "barbie-girl stuff" ... I downloaded the first volume and began to read .. I laughed my ass off at the beginning and untill the end ... it`s a mix of everything that boy an girl likes ^^it`s my favourite manga and because of it I`m now reading pretty much mangas =]
I`m waiting for vol 15 ..sure it will be a long time ... but I already know that it will be worthwhile

i'm happy to see that so many enjoy reading perfect girl evolution like i do. i'm a totally devoted fan and am collecting the manga. however, i only have the dellrey releases, which are totally behind the current (19 volumes) Japanese volumes. has anyone seen/read volume 15? i got really excited when i found out that sunako might be meeting the guy who broke her heart. since kyohei will be there...i'm totally excited to know his reaction when he (kyohei) meets the guy who started it all

Like everybody here : I looove this manga! I clarify that I'm french but I understand english (more or less :p ) that proves how much I love this manga (to read a manga in english, for a french people, it's really something!)
I wish to read the next volume (or chapter...but a chapter is so shooort! It's not enough!) I like the bad-tempered of Sunako and the obsession of Kyouhei for the japanese food!

WARNING: vols 15-17 spoilers - not 100% accurate though :p
my Japanese is boot-level...but this is as much as I got - those two have a dance contest together...because sunako can't look at kyouhei withiout bleeding..it's pretty hard :D; they're stuck together at a hotspring...I think; and one more chapter I didn't really get...kyouhei keeps trying to *seduce* sunako and gets the crap beaten out of huim O.o...plus some more *questionable* situations between the two :D; also takenaga and ranmaru have something juicy for us - can you say host club :D?

WOW!!I love this manga to bits!! one of my top listed ones!!!
I just found out there actually was an anime!!! WOW!! Soo behind!! I think I'm still on like volume 13 of the actualy manga!!

I love the start as there were more scens of Sunako in normal size...but later i d on't know but she is like permantly in mini size unless she has like tranferred into being all beaufiful. i liked it at the start she was still normal size...its like she completly poofs in and out of sizes.

The storyline is super funny which I love and all the things the whole group will get up to!

I really like this manga but I would've never picked it up if it wasn't for the girl in Border's recommending it to me (We have similar taste). But after I read the first volume I was hooked. Sunako-chan is definitely one of my fav. chars. and I love the whole love drama between her and Kyohei. I can't wait for them to release a new chapter (I've finished reading ch. 58 ages ago). I hope Kyohei realizes he likes Sunako soon, lol.

There are hints at her socialization level advancing, but it seems like she should be further along by now (so many tankoubon!).
If you liked the comedy in the manga, try the anime, which just completed being fansubbed! :D

I just finished reading chapter 62. I can't wait until chapter 63. A HUGE THANKS to those wonderful translators and editors out there for their effort.

Okay, so.. PGE. At first, I was feeling iffy about the artwork, but I realized that it's really very beautiful. I love the relationship the characters have with each other. It's loving and unique. I know a lot of people say that the progress of this manga is slow, but I don't think so. The rate of the development between the characters is perfect.

The anime was brilliant, too. The art: awesome. Honestly, I love everything about this story.

I love Sunako. I love Kyohei. I love their relationship. I heard some rumors and some spoilers about the next few chapters and I'm excited for the two of them. =X

I watched The Wallflower as an anime first and I heard how people didn't like it for various reasons. Oh, and it was difficult to find because the anime was under the Japanese name but it's called Perfect Girl Evolution here!

But I love this manga. It's my first shoujo manga ever, since until now, I'd just been reading Naruto and Bleach. So it's a whole new different concept. But it's still got the action between Kyouhei and Sunako lol. Who are easily my favourite characters (naturally).

Really, I'm shocked at how addicted I am and I am so glad you guys are scanlating and whatnot because I don't know what I'd do if I didn't get to know what happened in Volumes 16 onwards to 20 in English!!

Heehee, I checked out the RAWS because I'm impatient.
Anywho, thanks again for doing what you're doing!

There is no set time limit for our releases, however, we do try to get at least two chapters out a month (more if possible), and if you're wondering why we've not released yet this month, weeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllll ...

Suffice it to say that we're planning a REALLY nice Christmas gift for all the PGE manga fans :D

I had actually never hear of PGE until I ran into it at Borders (yay!) I thought the story sounded interesting, and I was right, I love it! Though the plot wavers sometimes, I find all the chapters entertaining and have been bored now that I've caught up with all current translations :p

My only complaint was that Sunako is drawn too often as a chibi. I understand that its a display of how she is perceived at that particualr time, as well as her emotions ... but it drives me crazy. Luckily we see her actual face more and more.

As I explained in my intro. I was introduced to PGE through the anime in a sample DVD posted in Newtype magazine. I found Cireus in an attempt to learn more about the show and then found out you guys had actually scanned the manga, which I am now reading with great amusement.

My problem here is that by the time I find a series I like, the North American market is already 10 books into the thing, so it's difficult to get the first few and see what's going on.

I have to admit that the manga has some absolutely laugh out loud (and scare the cat) funny moments, but I can see why they chose to 'leave out' some of it in the interpretation for video. Yet some other chapters, I find myself wondering if it's much funnier if you happen to be Japanese and get the cultural meme of the whole thing (like Sports Day, which just wasn't all that funny to me as a concept).

I really enjoy how Sunako is slowly, despite herself, becoming more comfortable with her roommates and her own appearance. The whole 'housewife and not a lady' angle is an interesting perspective on social and gender roles, and how we value beauty as a culture over the ability to Get Useful Things Done.

The manga essentially asks us if we want people or porcelain dolls and then shows us the price of our obsession with appearance, both through the various neuroses of the four boys that have arisen out of their privileged position as 'beautiful people' and through Sunako's journey from self-hatred to acceptance of her uniqueness. Not beauty, no, because she doesn't accept (yet) that she IS beautiful, but acceptance that she doesn't have to be something she's not if she's good at who she is.


Immensely enjoying this series.

And Sunako's like "Eh?" and Kyouhei changes the subject and Sunako says "Whew." Also, at the beginning, when Kyouhei offers to carry the grocery bags...and later when they're dancing and they stare at eachother and Kyouhei says it's embarrassing...but we all know he's in love with Sunako and that's why he can't look directly at her now. Sigh. This manga really brings out the fangirl in me.


It's good. It's all good in the hood. 17 volumes in, we've got some steady relationship building. Well, no, it's been like that for awhile but this is getting abit more blatant.

You guys are exactly right, those have got to be the best parts of the chapter. Because of this chapter, I decided to re-read all the volumes because I was starting to forget why I loved this manga so much. After re-reading it all you start to understand where their relationship starts to develop (which in my opinion was a long time ago, as I'm sure you'll all agree). I'm normally not the type to be so attached to something but now I just can't wait for the next releases. If only I could translate too. I'm just wondering how the mangaka will end the series when the time comes....it seems like it'll be hard to think of an ending.

I just want to thank the translators and editors and whoever else is helping with this project.....it's great to have some people who can let us enjoy this manga as well. The translations and pages are always clean and neat which is what I like most. You deserve the credit.

I actually stopped at vol 14 last year and imagine my surprise when i found out that it's already scanlated up to chapter 17!Isn't it just typical of sunako and kyohei to mess things up? they looked like they were doing some acrobatics and fighting against each other instead of really dancing :)

When Sunako and Kyohei can't understand what ballroom is? What is the cultural reference for when they say : You mean like this? Doesn't it match well?

I understand that Kyouhei is...sort of represented as a gangster? And they're in school uniform? What misunderstanding is that?

CHAPTER 69 was great! since i saw the raws first before the translated versions, i always thought the black haired girl was sunako haha...proved wrong at that! the series is getting better and better ^_^ i loved the way kyohei never cared about all the women fawning over him...could it be deep inside he is already feeling something for sunako? and for oba-chan - to be blinded in thinking sunako is deeply in love with kyohei... *sigh...how i await that day*

Anyway back on topic I agree that there has been an enourmous developement in Sunako and Kyohei's relationship, at least there is one now!! LOL

I love this manga ^^ It's so funny and it's awesome to see Kyouhei and Sunako's relationship progress in the last few chapters... I hope to see more on them in the coming chapters. Sunako's by far my most favorite character. She's so different from the lead females in all the other manga and anime and she's not one of those annoying weak, whiny crybabies. It makes me happy to have someone like her as a lead ^^V

So so so.. Chapter 71, hmm.

The first page with the imaginary bit was just PERFECT. It was so cute. And when they fixed Sunako up at the host club, she was so pretty. I wish the author could illustrate her less in her chibi form 'cause Sunako really is beautiful. And then I LOL'ed when she started cleaning the place around the dirty old man up. Then I just had to smile when Kyohei was helping her with the flowers 'cause it was just :<3: And then the pic of the four boys agreeing to work at the host club with tears rolling down their faces was awesome but had me laughing.

But the part when Oba-chan came out and the boys' reaction.. I was rolling. I laughed even harder when I read Oba-chan's 'special treatment' with Yuki. It was love. I loved it.

I just finished school so was about to come on to post something along the lines of : Ermm...WHERE IS CHAPTER 71??!!!:whip: (but more politely, LOL) I'd been checking for an update since the start of March.

And then I saw it. And it's wonderful. And Kyouhei and Sunako are really just...:<3:

Kyouhei is just sooooooooo cute when he's helping her with the flowers. When he's asking all those questions like why she 'reeks of perfume' and why she's working so late. It just makes me squee...because I'm a shameless fangirl and I read into that.

Thanks for the note on Aigo bentos too. Heehee...Sunako makes bentos for Kyouhei with tender loving care. And we really start to see that Sunako likes the boys and being with them now. It's like when she's smouldering from their radiance, she's just dealing with it now.

And that little smile Kyouhei has for her when they're working at that cabaret....

Plus, laughing heaps when Oba-chan roped the boys in and gave Yuki 'special treatment'. LOL. Sunako does it too.

Yeah...I really enjoy this manga. LOL. Maybe a bit too much.
Nahhh!! Never too much! I'm expecting the next one to be later this month right? Yay.

Also, I'd just like to say that having read the previous chapters scanlated by other scanlation groups, Cireus Scanlations translate the best because the older chapters have some really confusing sentences and it's all very disconnected. Good on Cireus Scanlations for good English!

Yes, in some way, I agree with you.
Things seem more hot in the first volumes. But, I think it's typically themes where we make mistakes. I think the author always plays with our vision/perception of love.
As the first kiss, the first date, ... things come always because Sunako or Kyouhey are unconscious/ hypnotized or forced. So, that's not real !
In the last volumes, maybe it seems there's less attraction between them (but you must wait for chapter 74 ! !), but I think or I would like to believe that they are awaking together to their feelings little by little (it's why I'm waiting for chapter 75)...

*cracks up* Meh, I love this page. Sunako was like the coolest. And I enjoyed this chapter too.

I've been waiting impatiently for this update, since from the title I knew my favorite Takenaga would be the focus of the chapter. I was a little disappointed with his initial reaction to Noi though, but then again I guess it couldn't be helped. *sigh* Their relationship would be more complicated in the future, as hinted in the chapter, since Takenaga's family isn't exactly the friendliest family in the series. I just hope that dork will stand up for what he really feels.

Can't wait for the next chapters. *feels giddy*
