Just a heads up: I didn't realize there was a problem with the search function until yesterday. It's now fixed, but it would have been fixed sooner if y'all had let me know! If you get an error page, please do let me know so I can fix it ASAP!
Also fixed is the "Show Today's Posts" link!
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you get an error, and make sure to let me know what kind of error (is it a mySQL error or a regular page error!), and what you were trying to access when you got said error!
I also implemented the pop up box on receipt of private notifications for everyone. It's easy to miss the PMs otherwise.
In any case, please DO feel free to let me know if any other errors pop up! That's the only way I'll know that there is a problem, after all!
Thanks for reading!

Sorry but I did not use it so I could not advise you of it :o

Youhou!:D And "New Posts" works too (at least for me!:p )
OK:
When I log in and have a new private message, I'm prompt with something like this:
You have a new private message.
Sender: ...
Title: ...
Click OK to view it, or cancel to hide this prompt.
OK Cancel
I click on OK and then:
Open the message in a new window?
(Press cancel to open in the current window.)
OK Cancel
If I click CANCEL, I go directly to the new message so that's fine. But if I click on OK, nothing appends...
And I still use IE 7.0 :p

That one may be more difficult to diagnose as I am not sure exactly what you're talking about *though I do have a good idea of what you mean*... It may be a browser glitch ... does it do this in any other browsers?

my private messages work fine in IE 7, make sure that your popup blocker is not on or the message won't pop up, that's happened to me before
*thinks IE is the Devil ...*
I'm with you for that thought but still using it! :p
I'll have to try it with Mozilla the next time I log in after having uploading some Bleach files since I dont receive that many PM. And when I'm here, there's no prompt only the mail notice in the uper right corner (using the Default Style skin).

That is odd ... everyone should have popups that notify them of new PMs when they refresh the page... I'll look into it though I'm thinking it is just a glitch ...
Cireus

Okay that little popup box that comes up is what you're talking about then because i saw the same messages you did, but it did work for me ... do you have "allow unrequsted popups" enabled for this forum in your browser? That might be why you're having trouble with that :)

This is not really an error, more a missing link in the new style. The buttons "mark forums read" and "view forum leaders" don't show up in the new skin "miner". In all other skins the links are at the bottom of the page in the main forum, right above the list of currently active members.
Cireus

It's just not on this skin, and without recoding the skin, I cannot add it. I already realized they weren't there, but I don't think it's a big enough glitch to ditch the skin ... Sorry ...
EDIT: I added a link to mark forums read on the sidebar ... it's the best I can do ... I *think* it works, but there weren't any new posts for it to actually mark as read, sooooooooo ..... let me know if it doesn't work.

Like I said it's not really a problem, I just thought I' notify you about that. I will try out the function that you implemented on the side bar as soon as I get the chance and give you a feedback.

I think the view forum leaders link is fairly negligible. The mods are listed at the side for the forums, and the admin is quite visible by their bolded names on the online list, so I think it's fine. I tested the mark as read and it works fine, too.

The button for "Mark posts read" is working just fine.
I have never used the "forum leaders" link, so for me there is no need to change the new style. I've just mentioned it for the sake of completeness. So I think problem solved. Thank you :)

Um....I see threads that say they are updated constantly but haven't been. I see it says something has been added but when I go its the same post its been for days. I don't get it...
Cireus
06-04-2007, 01:33 PM
That's because spam posts are being deleted, meaning that threads especially update threads have had the posts that are supposedly updated are not.

Does it happen within 5 minutes of being checked? I can check, refresh, and check again....its the same. Just always updated.
Not all of them do it either.

Only few do it.... and there seems to be no stopping it....at least for me

I don't know. Mine are fine, so I'd say it's your computer or has something to do with the browser you're using. That's the best I can do. Everything looks fine to me.

I have a problem with the button "Thanks". I click on it, the botton dissapears but the row "The Following User Says Thank You to ... For This Useful Post" has no changes.
Thanks in advance.

Looking into it. Apparently the mod will have to be updated for it to work with the upgrade that was released today.

thanks has been fixed HOWEVER ... in the process, I had to uninstall and reinstall, meaning that ALL THANKS GIVEN PRIOR HAVE BEEN LOST though the number of thanks on your reputation should remain the same. In effect, no one has LOST rep power, even though POSTS no longer have them...

I've got a problem while trying to rate the thread I've never rated before. I clicked on "Rate This Thread" but it showed me: "You have already rated this thread". I thought that maybe I've rated it before and simply forgotten, but that certainly wasn't the case. After a little research I've noticed that I can rate unrated threads, but I can NOT rate a thread as long as there is at least one vote.
Either this is a bug or my account was hacked by some rating-obsessed maniac.

Sounds like a bug, but it also sounds like one that is beyond my powers to fix. Hopefully the next time the forum is updated it'll go away.

This mite be a bug it mite be on purpose I don't know, what I do is leave all my tabs open, and save on exit, so when I get on all my tabs pop back up automatically. So I log back in to everyplace when the tabs are done popping back up, here when I log on if I had saved any of the tabs that need you to read the rules once, then when I log back in and refresh the page, it will lead me to the accept these rules page. Kinda annoying. :(

Hmmm that sounds like a bug, too. Actually, sounds like a cookie problem. Try logging out, dump your browser's cookies and log in again ... because I don't know that anyone else has had that problem

I've had it happen a few times when my log in timed out and I logged back in. It did help to restart my browser. I have firefox set to dump any cookies, history, etc. on exit.

Won't be a problem since I don't have a reason to keep cookies around anymore >.<. Megaupload makes me wait for dls and only 1 download at a time, they're insane! give me back my bypass. :(
I'll try it out and tell ya how it goes when I log on tomorrows. :O
Edit: well I had one of those times when I open browser, it still thinks I'm logged in, so couldn't test this time. :O

There seems to be a problem with the "Last Post" display for the "CLUE: Guess that anime edition" (http://forum.cireus-anime.com/showthread.php?t=4207) Game in "User Contests". Even though I replied to the thread and my post is displayed in the thread itself, the display for "Last Post" shows the last post as the one before me posted by Sheeta.
Could someone of the technical staff look into this please? It is quite irritating.
Thank you very much.

I seem to have another error. Today I tried to click on the "Mark forums read" button at the bottom of the main page. I always do this before I leave the forum and normally it works fine. But today I got an error message about a missing security token:confused:
I've attached a screenshot of the message. Could someone please take a look at this?
Thank you very much.

It's not surprising. There are a lot of errors caused by the update I did last night. I'm working on getting them all straightened out.

Those errors should now be fixed, I think. Thanks for reporting them.

Well, the problem is, that entering the site gets me a white sheet with the above message. I deleted the cookies already but still, it doesn't work. I have to sneak in from the back door using a link to the hosted Anime Index an then on to the forums.
Anyone has a similar problem? It's this way for almost a week now.

Yes, it's caused by one of the features of the forum that I'm trying to isolate right now and fix.

Okay I think I figured out what product was causing the error, but let me know if it isn't the right one (if you get more errors, that is). I'm hoping that it isn't, but it might be the stamps one. If that's the case, there's another one I can try to replace the ishop, but it costs money that I don't at present have :/

I've just got it and like millisa, the only way I can get in is by another indirect link to the forum and then back-step to the main page. I'm using FireFox to come here and since I've updated it just before that "white page" message began, I thought it was the cause for it.
And  for you Cireus. I know you do all you can

I'm slowly testing the products to see which one is causing the error. it may take a bit to single out the one that is causing the issue.

I know you do your best, so don't worry. Still had to enter through the backdoor today. For me it's OK as long as I can come here.
And I tested it on IE, the same there.
And what kind of money are we talking about.
Love ya

Hmmm, still? I've not had any problems in the last couple hours since I removed a few more features ... :(
I'm not sure; I just know it's a paid thing. I'll look into it, but if that's the case, then I'll likely upgrade the forum to vBulletin 4 then. I was holding off because of the lack of a decent bank or money product.

Okay, I reuploaded one of the templates in hopes that it'll fix the problem. It SEEMS to be loading without the momentary white page that signaled the problem for me. If this doesn't work, I may have to shut the forum down long enough to upgrade it to vB 4. I'm hoping not to have to do that yet, however, as we will also lose all our skins and neat little perks ...
Let me know if the problem is still persisting after you try dumping your cookies and logging in again.
Another place I'd read that unchecking the "remember me" box on the log in might help, too. It's a crapshoot. I'm hoping that it's fixed now, though.

Wahh, it works, came through in the front door this time, good work sweetie. I even had not to remove anything as you suggested above, it simply worked again. Thank you. So no closing down yet, I would miss the nice skins.
