That's a hard choice...Most of the manga series I'm reading/collecting right now are shojo...I guess if I have to choose I'd say Red River...no From Far Away...no Ceres...no Cherry Juice...argh, I can't choose!! :(

Naturally, Suzue Miuchi's Garasu no Kamen !!! I hope Miuchi sama ist working at the number43 !! In this Manga ist more romantic ,rain of feeling and the theatrical pieces are described and elaborate with the protagonists...at last and best the character of Masumi Hayami ist absolutely my ideal !!

My favorite shojo would have to be perfect girl evolution, H2O and Basara and basically anything els that has a strong female lead because i hate the whole weak fragile girl who needs a fairy tale guy to rescue her all the time. i just find that kind of storyline played out over rated and predictable.

my all time, all time favorite has to be Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers). In my opinion its one of the best that i have read (though i do like skip beat, perfect girl evolution, fruits basket...etc). When i first started reading this manga (last year) i didnt know what to expect i thought it would be like one of those fairly predictable shojo mangas that get boring after a while, but it really wasn't. The main charater Tsukushi Makino is a very head strong woman, and because of this was able to get over her hardships. And all the drama she encounters with Tsukasa Domyouji, Rui Hanazawa, and her crazy family make it a great novel. But what i liked the most about Hana Yori Dango was the charater developments that Yoko Kamio did. She not only talked about the drama between makino, tsukasa, and rui but she was also able to develop the supporting charaters backgrounds too. overall i just really really love this novel.
Probably Ouran Koukou Host Club and Vampire Knight.
Oh and Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden.

Hmmm... its really hard to decide since there are so many shoujo mangas... In any case, though, I still like Card Captor Sakura best in what I have read so far (I like it better than Ouran coz its finished! ^^)

Fruits Basket, Hana Kimi, Kare Kano for completed & Host Club, Nana & Skip Beat for ongoing... are the ones that are my top favourites right now... If you haven't read these, I'd highly recommend them for sure becuase you are seriously missing out if you haven't... definitely not your typical shoujo for certain.

If I had to pick just one to be my favorite shojo manga, I'd have to say Hana Kimi. It was such a brilliant series with the cutest characters. It's the one series that I can actually read from start to finish every once in a while and still be thoroughly entertained. However, Tokyo Crazy Paradise comes in at a very close tie. That was another phenomenal series. Both mangakas are geniuses!

My All time favourite would have to be..........drum roll.....
Hana Kimi
I just love this series to like bits!!! It has everything I like in it!!!
I love the storyline!! Also the number of series is good as I like long series and plus it gave it more time to develop the relationship between the characters.
I love the idea of the girl trying to act like a guy so she can go into an all guys school! It is soo hiliarious and there are so many other mangas like that and many are also on my top lists of shoujo manga...must like the cross dressing bit!!
Also you have to say the artwork is also really good!!I love the artwork used in this series than the artwork used for the series which came after!

My favourite is Skip Beat. Until now the plot is thrilling as ever and because of Kyoko's unique character and her little devils. After reading many shoujo magas I only thought that they had a nice storyline, which kept flowing, but there aren't many spikes in it. Therefore, Kyoko's character comes to show, if it gets boring. Yoshiki Nakamura has the talent to outplay the dragging szenes. There are many good plots like YamaNade, Ouran Host Club etc. ^^

I guess I gotta say... Petshop of Horrors. Gorgeous art, great characters that I both laughed at and cared for, and good control over mood. I am sooooo psyched about the upcoming sequel!! (Tokyo Petshop of Horrors. I'm hoping that it won't screw up PSoH's awesomeness. I'm all for more, but the original ending was great, and I don't want a sequel to screw it all up.)

My favorite is Ouran High School. It's really light and I think it's pretty funny. The drawing is very nice also. However, I wish someone would scan and edit the project now. I think it's about 2-3 issues behind. D= I also like Penguin Revolution, Red River, Hana Kimi, etc. I own most of them. XD

Though I would hate to admit it, to this day I can never for the life of me remember the different terms for manga styles and its target audience! So I really can not give an honset replay, but reading this has given me the idea to create a little "dictionary" of sorts explaining them! Should help me and a few others with any luck...Thanks :D

I'm a guy who's very comfortable with his heterosexuality, but I happen to have a soft spot for super-deformed/chibi characters so YamaNade is my pick. Before coming across a pic of Sunako I never really read any shoujo, its always seemed too cutesy to me, but since then I've bettered my opinion of shoujo. To me YamaNade is a really funny story that just happens to be shoujo. I still have a hard time with the overly cutesy art but if it has a good story I can ignore that.

My favourite manga would be MeruPuri! Because it was the manga that opened my mind about uh... Shoutakon is it? Not that I like it or go around searching for it... but I really had a biased opinion about older people getting with these young kids... now I don't mind it at all haha...
Anyways, I really loved the art and how the characters interacted with each other and the final moment Airi realized her love was heart warming. My only disappoint is that it's 4 volumes long........... T_______________T

I have too many favorites to name them all. Following are the manga that I read more than 5 times. {Yes! 5 times}
Eden No Hana: I love the story, also the devotion between the
brother and sister is so touching.
I was so sad to hear the SIETSIGU, Yuki had plagiarized from Slam Dunk.
The Wallflower: Sunako chan “taiski” I have never come across a character like her. She has so many good qualities yet very low self esteem.
Detective Conan: very big fan of murder mystery. This manga has romance, mystery, action, and adventure.
YuYu Hakusho: the main character, Yusuke is a delinquent punk however he dies trying to save a kid.
I had never come across manga or book where the main character dies in the beginning.
Bastard: by Hagiwara, Kazushi. Yoko is such strong female character that she tends to control DS, who everyone fears. The story is just as interesting as the characters.
There many more but my hands are starting to hurt from all this typing. ^_^

I like many of the previously mentioned manga. However, I didn't see
Crimson Hero on there...which is an ongoing series I recently read and really liked. The mangaka also wrote Akuma de Sourou (The Devil Does Exist), which is so-so, but not as strong as Crimson Hero.
It's sporty, and the lead character is very strong.

My Fav shoujo Manga of course....
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge/ Perfect GirlEvolution/ Wallflower..
(I really like sunako's character and the interaction between sunako and kyohei). I watch the whole anime episodes and read the 80 chapters manga less than a month. and now, can't wait to read upcoming chapter that will be released on January! :sobs:
Fruit basket also awesome! I read it while dying waitirg for next chapter of PGE. At beginning it's light story but get deeper chapter after chapter, some story is also beyond my thought.

I've finished fruit basket, then what should i read while waiting PGE??

Too many favs.
Just to list a few...
1) Moon Boy (a.k.a. Monday Boy) - girl manhwa (that they call it "soojeun" or something like that? The equivalent to "shoujo"). It's my only manhwa obsession. I don't know why but that's how it went. >_>
2) Anything by Natsumi Ando (and whoever she co-makes the manga with if that happens): Kitchen Princess, Zodiac P.I., and Arisa (which I'm slowly translating onto my LJ...for self satisfaction... ;_; )
3) SKIP BEAT! - the manga which may turn many people off at first because of the artwork but once you actually read it, you get addicted. O.o I was one of those who would usually see story first above artwork, but there was something about SKIP BEAT that totally turned me off. Well, I thought it was one of those typical "celebrity stories" of a girl who really wanted revenge against a guy BUT that apparently wasn't the case once I read through it. Before I knew it, I spent the entire weekend reading up to the current chapter. It's sooo good. <3
4) Otomen - >D I haven't read much of it though. I'm always tempted to buy the Japanese tankoubons because the scanlation is pretty slow. Buuut, I think it's officially in English now right? So, I might as well go and buy the first volume in English when I can. I don't have much room though for more manga at this moment. ;_; I was almost lured to the previous issue of Hana to Yume which featured Otomen's main protaganist on the cover.
5) 07-Ghost - josei manga, but I love the theme of friendship and Teito searching his past for the truth. Best of all, it's not shoujo/shounen-aiiii! Whahahah...
6) Cardcaptor Sakura - can't beat the simplicity of CLAMP's second Nakayoshi manga series. Magic Knight Rayearth is a close call though. ^^; *huggles Mokona*
7) Gakuen Alice - When you combine X-Men and Harry Potter together, this manga pretty much sums it up. >D (Although, the mangaka's previous series before that isn't so bad either. S+M)

Out of Shojo, I adore Furuba (Fruits Basket) more than any other. It starts off pretty silly and funny, and then it just gets deeper, darker, more emotionally power... There isn't a single character in the main cast that's never made me cry. It's wonderful.
Other Shojo manga that I love are pretty much anything by Yuu Watase... Fushigi Yugi, Ayashi No Ceres (Ceres Celestial Legend), Zette Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend), Imadoki (Nowadays)...
For Shonen, InuYasha and Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan/Case Closed) stand head and shoulders above the rest. The only problem is that collecting them legally will break your wallet.

Hard choice but my favorite is vampire knight. skip beat´s really good and fruits basket is awesome. hmmm i think i got three favorites. i like vampires and the story of the manga. i like the style and the humor of skip beat and fruits basket is so funny and cute.
all time favourite...hana yori dango, tokyo crazy paradise, hana kimi, eternal sabbath, mars
new favs : skip beat, ouran, immortal rain, kaichou wa maid sama, otomen
those are the top ones but I have more lining behind them it justnever stop growing.
all of them basically portrays strong characters as their lead characters, with growing potentials and the story remains true its nature though some may have been too long but the story is highly appreciative... not too mention the arts are quite fabulous and the story and plot is not boring or too cliched. nice set up besides making your mind work and your soul feel the pressure

my latest favorite is love sky (OMG! THE DRAMA!!!) i can't find vol7 tho >.>" its bugging me now.. but sure.. i'll wait hahaha. However my all time favorite is skip beat ^o^ its so cute, and she is so evil (right now) it makes me laugh ^o^ hmmm.. there are others that i vaguely remember but.... i think i like manhwa better than manga, my favorite manhwa is the bride of the water god (THE ART!!!!) and flower of evil (tho i hate the ending).... i think that's all....
So difficult to choose....
If I had to choose one, then I would say ... Fruits Basket. (I have a soft spot for family comedies.) It's an absolute gem. It has everything - deep, dark emotion, a study of different family relationships, top-class comedy, drama, and beautiful, beautiful romance. It's inspiring, moving, and heart-warming, and in a completely different league from most other works classified as "shoujo" mostly because it isn't as materialistic - it has a purity that most mainstream works lack.
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, because I just don't know what Sunako will do next. She is the most unpredictable heroine (Shoujo or otherwise) ever printed. And her chibi look is just soooooooooooooooooooooooo cute, I can just go kuchee kuchee koo all day long.
I also love Lovely Complex, mostly because the characters don't take themselves too seriously, despite their sincere, and genuine feelings.
I really like Kaichou wa Maid-sama, and what really gets me is that I'm not even sure why. Although I can't exactly put my finger on the reason, I think it's probably the charm of the characters, and the art. They're so much larger than life, and so much has been foreshadowed, that I'm really just sticking around to see how it will end.
I really really love Special A. Although it employs more than just a few cliches, it does it so well that I can't say I really mind. I would have liked to see a little more development on the Yahiro/Megumi front, and although we have 99 chapters to read, I would have loved even more general character development and more interaction between the members of the S.A. and more background on Jun, Megumi, and Ryuu. But what we have is more than adequate, and this manga is definitely a favourite of mine.
Hana Kimi would be at the top of my all-time favourites list next to Fruits Basket. There's something so loveable, so comfortable about this manga. The characters are so real. Even the food descriptions have their own charm. The dialogue can be witty, and the comedy is top-notch, plus Mizuki is just so so adorable... I love happy endings :)
Ouran Koukou Host Club is definitely there, too. I thought the anime was brilliant - completely wacky. I wanted to know more about the characters so I read the manga, and I have to say the manga is on a completely other level. It isn't so good at first, but with each progressive chapter the mangaka is improving the story at an unbelievable rate. It is so much more than just a wacky screwball comedy. Whilst deliberately chock-full of cliches, it still successfully charms. The more recent chapters highlighting the growth of the characters are heart-warming, and can even be moving. The very latest chapter special about Haruhi's parents; the warm fuzzy feelings it invoked akin to Fruits Basket has cemented Ouran's place in my favourites list.
I do like Skip Beat, but as a shoujo, not as a romance. The main character is something else, and I really like how she is discovering her true self through acting. Her facial expressions can be really adorable (they remind me of Mizuki), the comedy is really really good, and the darker side of Kyoko's personality is intriguing. I'm looking for a little more substance before I classify it an all-time favourite, but I did sit and read all the chapters in one go (something I hadn't done since Death Note), so it's definitely up there somewhere.
On a material level, Hana Yori Dango never fails to satisfy. It has every possible dramatic twist I can think up, and portrays the deeper, darker side of passionate love like no other manga out there. I've got my fingers crossed for a sequel.
Kimi ni Todoke and Beauty Pop are two others I can classify as favourites - both being classic embodiments of the shoujo genre, each in their own way.
The Silver Millennium bits of Sailor Moon will always remain in my all-time favourites as the MOST romantic heart wrenching tragic but oh so beautiful manga fable ever...
How could I possibly choose just one????

If I had to choose one favorite shoujo manga, I think I'd go with Basara. There's just something about that series that draws me in. I really like the fact that the main female protagonist, Sarasa, is such a strong person. I really can't stand weak and whiny heroines who can't do anything themselves. Another reason why I like the series is because of the interesting story.

I don't read much Shoujo so it's easy to choose my top five.
First, I like Kimi ni Todoke. It is another typical shoujo manga but the characters are refreshing and the plot are getting better every chapters too. It is too good I had to buy the RAWs xD
Second, I like Fruit Basket. Every characters had their dark secrets that made the story so interesting. I cried alot when I read Fruit Basket lol
Third, maybe High School Debut. At first, I thought Kimi no Todoke's mangaka and HSD's mangaka were the same person. xD (I know I shouldn't have think that)
Fourth, Ayashi no Ceres. Another brilliant manga from my favourite mangaka, Yuu Watase. I like all her mangas. Never fails to make me cry xDD
Last, I think Desire Climax cause I like the art and the smuttiness~lol
