genesis p-orridge, the frontman for throbbing gristle actually coined the term industrial music. its in reference to his record label industrial records. he was also responsible for starting the first dada movement in england... and he injected milk into his penis on stage.

art can be be represented in an infinite degree. the engrossing nature of media of any type relies on its ability to appeal to a consumers desires. people would like to entertain the notion that there is a difference between ugly and beautiful,... the grotesque and the sublime. to revel in filth alters its constitution, in other words the filth transcends its boundaries. this growth gives it life, makes it organic, so viscerally stimulating compulsion holds your hand. what does this have to do with industrial music? it lies in the necessity of its being. its exposure of subversive desire coupled with the unity of its listeners provides a real movement alluring and deviant but all too delightful. boundaries are meant to be pushed. besides isn't deviance fun?
